Also the nice missed dunk by OSU as long armed Anthony Jones alters the shot…
Well as I finally arrived in my seat after fighting traffic on University Parks Dr for 30 minutes, I noticed a couple of things:
1) Kansas brought fewer fans than they did last time. All told, they probably had 1,000 fans there. I guess if you live in Texas and this is the only chance for you to see your faraway home team, it’s as easy trip to take in a game. There weren’t many around me, but those that were were cordial and largely quiet the first 12 minutes of the game. Then The Rapture occurred. (more on that later).
2) When the Ferrell Center is packed it is a really cool place to watch a game. The men finally knocked off the women for the all time largest crowd in FC history, and for that, we thank you.
3) Students, great job showing up
4) Highlights of the game were highlights of the 55-7 molestation that was BU football over Kansas, the Matson Financial putt and the two dudes dressed up as Dorothy and the Scarecrow.
So like I said, it was a pretty good game up until 8 minutes left in the first half. Kansas’ defense was bad and ours was terrible. Kansas shooters were more wide open than Angelina Jolie’s gaping yawn in the morning – and they didn’t miss. All told in the first half, they missed something like 6 shots. Yeah, you heard me. They shot 79% from the floor for the ENTIRE FIRST HALF.
I’d like to write more, but I’ve learned the more you write, the more you’re wrong. So let’s just sum it up by saying the following: defense, lazy passing, turnovers, not hustling back on defense, missed allyoops, ZERO motion on offense, oh and GIANT OSTRICH-SIZED EGG, as usual (not that any of us didn’t see it coming).
I’m not going to say I’m mad I went to the game. The crowd just proves that, contrary to popular belief, Baylor supports a winner (kudos on the Growl Towels), even when that winner is struggling and teetering on becoming a loser for the 2010-2011 season.
I don’t know where we turn from here, but this could turn into a very longER season.
